Our culture

The people behind the numbers.

OPTENTRA is built by operators, consultants and traders who have all run the P&L themselves. That shared scar tissue is the culture — practical, candid, and allergic to work that cannot be measured.

Mission

Make world-class strategy accessible, and executable.

We believe the best business strategy planning should not be reserved for the largest balance sheets. Our mission is to give mid-market operators the same rigour of strategy, consultancy, brand and trading discipline — and then stay long enough to make it real.

Vision

To be the partner operators call when growth must happen.

We want OPTENTRA to be the firm that clients turn to not for a deck, but for a decision — and then for the supply chain, the store and the dashboard that prove it.

Our values

Five commitments we are willing to be measured on.

01

Evidence over instinct

Every recommendation is grounded in data we can show you. Where we lack evidence, we say so plainly instead of dressing up an opinion.

02

Senior people stay close

The partner who scopes your work is the partner in the room for the hard parts. We do not hand work down the ladder and report up.

03

Compliance is not negotiable

In international trade and general trading, a fast deal that breaks a rule is not a deal. Screening, documentation and ethics sit in the critical path.

04

Technology is a delivery tool

Our mobile management app exists so clients keep the work after we leave. Software should serve the operation, not replace the judgement.

05

Local fluency, global reach

Hong Kong roots, cross-border fluency. We understand the practical reality of moving goods and money between Mainland China, Southeast Asia and Europe.

Milestones

Seventeen years of compounding experience.

From a two-desk consultancy in Kowloon to an integrated advisory, trading and technology house operating across eighteen markets.

09 2009

Founded in Hong Kong

OPTENTRA opens with three partners and a single mandate: bring disciplined business strategy planning to operators who could not afford the large firms.

13 2013

General trading division launched

Advisory clients asked us to operate the plan, not just design it. The general trading and goods wholesale and retail business begins here.

16 2016

International trade and supply chain

Import and export of various goods becomes a formal service line, joined by supply chain management for clients scaling across borders.

20 2020

Brand advisory and e-commerce

Demand for brand advisory and e-commerce consultation leads the two new practices — both built around what actually moves product, not just perception.

23 2023

First mobile management release

The internal delivery platform ships to clients, giving every engagement a live dashboard for orders, inventory and advisory milestones.

26 2026

App Store and Google Play launch

The mobile management app becomes a public release on both storefronts, extending business strategy planning, management consultancy, brand advisory, general trading and e-commerce consultation into one platform.

Team spirit

Small enough to care. Experienced enough to deliver.

We are deliberately compact. Every engagement is staffed by people who have run the function they are advising on.

Advisory partners

Former operators in strategy, finance and operations who lead every engagement personally.

Trading desk

Sourcing, negotiation and channel specialists across general trading and wholesale.

Regional partners

On-the-ground trade and market knowledge across APAC and European corridors.

Product engineers

The team behind the mobile management app published on Google Play and the App Store.

Global compliance & CSR

Global reach, local accountability.

We operate across eighteen markets, and we take the regulatory obligations of each one seriously. Our global compliance and corporate social responsibility commitments are written into the terms that govern our work and our platforms.

  • Sanctions, export control and restricted-party screening on every trade flow
  • Data handling aligned with the privacy regimes our clients operate under
  • App Store and Google Play review standards treated as a minimum, not a ceiling
  • Annual review of our corporate social responsibility commitments

Regulatory first

Compliance review sits at the start of every international trade engagement, not at the end when something needs explaining.

People commitment

We invest in training, safe working conditions and fair dealing with our supplier and partner network.

Honest reporting

Engagement results are reported as measured, including the metrics that did not move.
